A City to Reach, A Gospel to Share

Discover how one Zagreb church is taking the hope of Jesus into its community.

Croatia has experienced centuries of political change, foreign rule, and conflict, and today, it is home to approximately 3.8 million people. But there is another part of Croatia's story that matters deeply to us.
Evangelical Christians still make up only a small percentage of the population, and many communities have little or no access to a Bible-believing, Gospel-preaching church.
That is why we believe we cannot simply wait for people to come to us. We must go to them.
As the pastor of Church of the Full Gospel, I believe everything we do should ultimately point people to Jesus. Our calling is not simply to gather people inside a church building, but to take the Gospel into Zagreb and to meet people where they are so we can create opportunities for them to hear, see, and experience the love of Christ.
And we are finding many different ways we can do that.
We believe one of the most powerful ways to reach a city is through its families. Through Operation Christmas Child and Superbook, we connect with children and families and have opportunities to share the message of God's love.
Throughout the year, we organise seminars for women, teenagers, and business leaders, addressing practical issues people face in everyday life while opening the door to biblical truth. We want people to discover that God's Word is not disconnected from real life, it speaks directly into it in an authentic and powerful way!
Concerts have opened up incredible ways to reach people who may never walk through the doors of a church. Through music and worship, we are able to create an environment where people can encounter God’s love and presence, while also hearing the message of the Gospel.
One of the greatest tools we have found to reach the young people of Zagreb is through our children's and youth camps. Each summer, children and teenagers are given an opportunity to get away from the distractions of everyday life, build friendships, hear God's Word, and encounter Jesus in a way they never thought possible! Because of our annual camps, we have seen an authentic move of God amongst the teens of Zagreb, and God’s work is not done yet. We continue to witness more and more young people and college-aged young adults commit their lives to Christ at our outreaches.
For me, evangelism is the heart of everything wedo because we want to make Jesus known in our city! Zagreb is our city. We love its people, and we believe God has called us to serve them.
My prayer is that through every ministry opportunity God gives us, more people throughout Zagreb, and eventually Croatia, will discover hope, freedom, and a new life that only Christ can give!
